Flowering Raspberry Bonsai (Raspberry Idaeobatus)

The Red Raspberry is chosen by gardeners for its sweet flavor, firmess, and its large size fruit. This raspberry has two harvest seasons with a moderate yield in Summer and a heavy yield in the Fall. Preferred uses include fresh eating, frozen and in preserved pies. The fruit is developed by honeybees and other pollinators. Flowers are produced in late spring & early summer. Each flower is about 2-3 cm in diameter, with five (5) white or pale pink petals. Kept outdoors as a winter chill is required to stimulate flower bud development.
